NAD, Marantz or Cambridge Audio system for £300
what would anyone recommend for a budget of £300
Marantz PM4001 + CD5001
Cambridge Audio Azur 340A + 340C
NAD 315BEE + 515BEE
Any suggestion of speakers for £100-£150 would be appreciated too.
cheers for your advice but the problem is I'll be buying from Richer Sounds and can't find anywhere locally to listen to the kit. So I really am relying just on advice from here to make my decision...
NAD, NAD and MS speakers.
It looks hard to beat the value of the Cambridge deal at the moment (the 340C/340ASE plus speakers) - well matched, and basically free speakers. Am tempted to buy it and sell them off separately for profit
Cheers for your advice, after much deliberation I decided on the NAD + MS 902i (thanks nads for the speaker tip).
got it all connected and up and running this arvo and so far I'm very impressed and hopefully things will only improve as the speakers are run in!

Only your own ears can make the final decision but my suggestion would be:
NAD 315BEEor Azur 340C with NAD 515BEE and Mordaunt-Short MS902i speakers. I thought the PM4001 was terrible and I don't like Cambridge Azur amps though so you must try to hear each in order to make your own mind up. The CD 5001 is decent if a bit congested sounding in the mid-range (I have one sitting in its box).
