Musical Fidelity X-A100 amp

Ive seen a couple of these at very good prices recently wondered how good they are? Also couldnt find any details on when they were made? I know Musical Fidelity amps are supposed to be very good with the MA GS20's wanted to compare one to my Primare thought this would be a good oppurtunity! Thanks

There were lots of X-series (the lozenge shaped ones). I think the X-A100 was the most powerful of the integrateds available, and retailed (I'm guessing) at about the grand mark. Certainly no more. Beautifully made, lots of power - certainly up there with Roksan, Cyrus, Primare, Naim - and, if I recall, extremely highly thought of by WHF at the time, when Anthony still sent products in for review...

The xa100 amp has around 75 watts per channel and came with a remote, my xa1 is the model below with 50 watts power minus the clicker, both are great amps although the later xa2 model sounded better than both former models..

If you can get the XA100 at a good price, go for it. I dont think you will go wrong. I am using XA1 with a pair of XA50s, and the sound superb. Been using it for 10 years now.

I remembered I bought my XA1 from Sevenoaks at GBP 479 in 1999. So I assume the XA100 would be in the vicinity of GBP 600 to 700.
