Marantz MCR 603 + Morduant-Short 906i

I just bought a pair of Morduant-Short 906i and hook it up to MArantz MCR603. The sound seem to lack of clarity. I am new to Hi-Fi. This my first system. Can someone advice is it whether i got the wrong speaker? I am using it in a small room space.
