There's a serious and very important side to this, too.
When I had the Alpha 7 the volume control went wonky. Contacted them and they were going to charge me for repair, plus I had to arrange my own courier. That's when the decision was made to buy the A65+. What it cost to repair outweighed its value.
Leema, on the other hand, regardless of sound quality and all the other paraphernalia that goes with the brand's reputation (Pulse MKI is the third generation of their amps), they are repairing and arranging pick-up and delivery back when fixed without costing a penny.
Can't ask for more than that. Wicked.
So its gone wrong twice? How old is it?
Yup - In August 2010, four days after buying brand new from SSAV, contacted the retailer about a heavy hum on headphones only. No hint of trouble on speakers, but due to their returns policy decided to call Leema direct. They had it picked inside three days and a fortnight later not only was repaired but they modded it too. Because my version was obsolete they had to re-earth it using the MKIII configuration, and to be on the safe side they replaced the circuit board with the MKIII as well. Good, eh?
The big companies could learn an awful lot from Leema about customer care.

Selling for the Rega upgrade????
Rega and upgrade in the same sentence , thats a first.
Icon Audio ST40 III / KT88, Rega Apollo R, DAC, RS3
Rega RP6, Nagaoka MP-200, White Belt, Michell Tecnoweight, Rega Fono MM
Rega Quattro, Couple 1 & 2
Think PP would rather sell the Mrs than change the Pulse.
No. Had no offer at all.
Dont know how Regas customer care is TBH, Brio not gone wrong yet in 16 mths
Clearly you don't purchase a hi-fi component to test the maker's customer care credentials. If it does need repairing, however, it's reassuring to know they have a fuss-free back-up service.
I should put in a word for Naim's customer care. Also exemplary in my experience.
(Not a wind up PP. Actually true.)

Really good. Nice to hear others actually care for their clients, as you tend to hear the bad things rather than good....
Yes its good hear about good customer service.
I don't know about customer care with hifi as in 40 years I never had to use it. My last system was 20 years old, Arcam, Marantz and Mission.
C'est la vie. Any component that's electro-mechanical can and does, on occasions, go pear-shaped.
It's also the little things that makes Leema special IMO. This morning he even asked me when would be the most convenient day for me to have the courier pick-up. I said name a day. He replied "let's make it Monday. It'll give you the weekend to use the hi-fi."
interesting , just switching to Leema Elements amp with dac built in and I have problem with noise in headphone socket too
but only when SBT is connected to dac coax input. It is ground loop hum but 1,5k unit should be better isolated , I can not listen to headphones in low volumes cos I can hear that humming in background annoying ...
and I did not try turntable yet (the Leema phono stage arrived without upper left screw brand new ,that is shocking .... )
I am trying to sort it out with seller
but so far comparing rega dac against Leema integrated dac ....
I Mac , Leema Elements amp-dac , Rega RS5 , Chord cables
Squeezebox touch ,Leema elements phono stage , Rega P3-24 , Ipad 4
You love me really
Mmmm... this was one thing I was concerned about when posting this... When I puirchased this amp 3 years ago the retailer and maker assured me it was a isolated case: One or two possibly slipped thru the net but generally the product is as sound as a pound. Please remember this was with my model the Pulse MKI. I've not come across any other models with this problem.
Make sure you check thoroughly all sources and all earthings. It may just be something as simple as a dodgy interconnect.
I did ask my delaer about the Rega warranty, statuaory is 2 years but heard Rega will honour all warranty after 2 years!
Of course you don't and my comment was tongue-in-cheek
Bet my amp blows up later, it has been running very hot the last few days!
PP, hope you get the Leema sorted soon
I was stupid to get rid of my (super duper priced) Mk.1 Pulse, only reason was because of the mediocre Stream cd player
