I'll recommend looking at alternative makes of pre amplification as i don't feel that Cyrus pre amplifiers are on par with the performance levels offered by their own source components and power amplifiers.
Again, sweeping statements that are incorrect - have you heard a DACxp+ Rick? And if so, have you heard them with Mono x200's and X300's? The DACxp+ is every bit good enough to reproduce faithfully anything is sent to via their CDXTse2/PSXr CD transport or Stream X streamer. It is also good enough to supply a high enough quality signal for running two, four, or six Mono X300's, running pretty much whatever speakers you like. How it sounds in our store is full testament to that.

If you wanted to try valves, the
is affordable and could be interesting. I think if i didnt want/need a DAC built in I would be trying something like this.
