Hi-res classical downloads at reasonable cost...
If you think that the cost of hi-res downloads (DLs) from Linn Records, HDtracks et al is a tad pricey (eg c. £19 for 24/192), there is an alternative:
US-based High Definition Tape Transfers (aka HDTT) sells hi-res classical DLs for $12/£7 (24/96) and $16/£10 (24/192). And purchasing from the UK is not in breach of HDTT's T&Cs.
Why so cheap? The reason is HDTT's source material: "ALL of the recordings we use for our transfers are in the Public Domain - which means that the public is free by law to openly use and distribute them - and have all been thoroughly researched by Government Liaison Services, Inc. ( http://www.trademarkinfo.com/ )."
