RE: Hi Fi sounds better when it's hot

I meant to say, that my Hi fi sounds so much better during the current warm spell - a bit subjective I know, but has anyone else noticed a recent sonic improvement?? party time!

You are not the first to notice this apparent phenomenon  Wink -

I think Hi Fi sounds better when the unit has warmed up to its operating temperature whence all the capacitors, resistors, transistors or opamps have stablized and running at their optimum designed values.

Is that why you never see a hi-fi in a igloo? My powers of detection are on the up. Smile

Well i have nocticed this time & time again during warm periods. I did post a topic about this phenomena a while back. I thought it was just a matter of the mains getting less polluted during the hot weather, or as someone mentioned all the components in the Hifi are warmed up properly during hot weather.

I dnt know how it happens, but my Hifi definitely sounds better during the hot weather.

Here, mid-summer means daytime temps of 32 degrees and up, 24-26 overnight, so not only would there be more mains pollution due to airconditioners running, I have the sound of my own aircon competing.  Just means I have to turn it up higher, and it always sounds better luder, irrespective of the weather.

Oh well i will go by what I hear. Am a music producer & I can tell when my system sounds different.  It takes years of pratice to master the act of mastering music. On that note am sure to say its not in my imagination.
