Want to buy my son some decent sound with a 'network' amp, what do you recommend, Onkyo 7030 CD + 8050 Amp + my old B&W 601s for GBP560 or Onkyo 755 + Monitor Audio BX2 for GBP500?
Panasonic TX-L42WT50B TV, Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu Ray, Virgin Tivo, Ruark Audio R4i, Marantz M-CR603, Kef R100 speakers...Cables....Audioquest FLX SLiP 14/4 speaker cables, Audioquest HDMI's, TCI Coral Optical + Clearer Audio Silverline, Merlin Terantula MK6 and Tacima CS929.
Marantz M-CR603 but not BX2's. Maybe some Dali zensors?
I've seen that combo before for GBP499 but never looked into it, will do now, thanks!
Two very different solutions that I'm sure your son will appreciate greatly, but I'd plump for the first choice, as I suspect that your lad would want to crank the volume up at times and I feel that the Marantz might struggle.
Mac mini > AVI ADM9Ts
Believe me the Marantz does definitely not struggle to crank up the volume!!
