Got a mains cable, don't judge me before you hear what I have to say
So long as cables don't corrode, or have any nasty electrical behaviour and are made competently then there really isn't much to talk about.
Fancy mains cables are worthy of even less discussion. A manufacturer isn't going to go to the trouble of designing a high specification amplifier (with a deliberate choice of high quality components) and then 'nobble' it by maliciously including a sub-standard mains cable and plug.
If they really felt it was that important - to the integrity of the whole design - then they would ensure a 'bespoke' mains cable and plug was provided and charge accordingly. (And make a fuss about it in their marketing.)
Well i can judge by what i hear.. I do hear improvement in sound quality in some products.. does not mean to say some are just cables & nothing more.

Well I have to say I didn't know people used that word in real life!
You must move in different circles to me!

It's unlike you to get caught up with one of the well known WUMs on the forum, Chebby. Interesting to hear you views on cables tho.
I would encourage manufacturers to make equipment with 'tethered' mains cables (like they used to) to put an end to this 'boutique' mains lead nonsense.
NO, NO and thrice NO!!! Tethered / hard-wired mains cables are the absolute Devil's spawn. Having to thread mains-cables into/out of racks and supports while they're still attached to the component[s] is a nightmare, especially when you have to faff-about with huge UK (MK) mainsplugs, which on more than one occasion (=most) I've had to lop-off in order to thread the cable to where it's going then fit another plug afterwards.

Yeah I remember those. Been a long time since I saw new mains-plugs with the screw-up binding-posts. They probably got outlawed or something.

Hi Ben,
I guess that is WUM as in "He's a WUM, just ignore his posts.", and not as in "Wum, make me a sandwich!" or "It´s important for me that he is WUM." (urbandictionary.com)?
Always glad to better my English skills. Thanks!

Short version: contacted dealer to remind him of our appointment - dealer had just (again) sold his demo pair of Tritons and ordered new ones - next try (3rd time!) somewhere end of this month... Oh, do I hope they are worth it!
