What would be your list of components, that over the years (up to the present), has genuinely moved the goalposts for its level of performance / innovation.

Celestion SL6. First metal tweeter.

I never knew that the SL6's were introduced before 1962 when Bozak introduced their aluminium B-200Y tweeters.

Maybe I should have said in GB, with speakers that were mainstream and affordable.

The Yamaha rx-a5 the 1st truely musical reciever (followed by the ax-620).

changed the thinking behind reciever design...... well maybe not..... but they're great sounding stereo/5.1 recievers.
