I have a Naim Dac, 282, 250.2.

I only use digital from a mac so I'm thinking I could get a simpler system - A DAC with volume control straight into a power amp.

Does anyone have any experience with such DACs (audiolab Mdac, Teddy Dac, Weiss 202 etc) straight into a power amp (eg Naim 250.2, Teddy Monoblocks etc) vs the more conventional Naim set up such as mine?

Is this a crazy move? Is the Naim still the best option? It seems to be a lot of boxes and ££ to play digital only. I did wonder whether the simpler system would also bring benefits due to less being 'in the way' between the source and the speakers.

Are you unhappy with what you have now? If not, just stick with it. Sounds like you already have a system most can only dream of...

Yes, the system sounds great!

Just wondering if I can retain that sound without the 282 Pre, Naim Dac and two power supplies.

Maybe, maybe not.
