Hi, does a new subwoofer need breaking in like wot new speakers do.
monitor audio asw12 sub
More than likely, it's just a speaker, albeit one designed for low frequencies.
No signature worth mentioning...
Yes, I would say the same. Not so long ago, I bought the B&W ASW610 from my local hi-fi store. They told me that it would sound a little "muddy" the first month or two.
Arcam Alpha 7 CD --> Arcam Alpha 6 Amp --> AKG K701/Grado SR80i.
It does, as any other speaker. Several hours on moderate volume should do just fine, though you are unlikely to notice major signs of improvement, this being a sub.
wonderful news and thanks both for your advise-i was hoping that would be the case. am very happy with it out the box but the idea it might sound better in time makes me feel all warm and tingly. I did strongly consider the b&w sub but for £300 new, deliverd, the asw12 won the day.
I also like the idea that my new subwoofer might become even better
