RE: change of amp

The Bose 251 is an outdoor speaker is it not?  Its a £900 amp and a £400 speaker, would it not make more sense to upgrade the speakers?

I would suggest looking at Musical Fidelity M3i or Peachtree Nova.

I changed from a Nait5I to a Sugden A21 and have never regretted it.

100% spot on. Change the speakers, not the amp.

You also have a 'so so' CD player that was £130 eleven years ago (when new) and is certainly not going to match the Nait 5i for quality.

Obviously a new Naim CD5i is going to be pricey (unless you get a good used one). I would suggest trying to find a good ex-demo/used Rega Apollo (not the latest Apollo-R).

the Naim sounds much better if you change the speakers as has beeen suggested already, try the new KEF R series for example the  R 300 or R 700

Just to reinforce the current opinion but your amp is the single strongest component of your system, that would be the last thing I’d be looking to change.

Those speakers do not do the amp justice...

RE: change of amp

I have an Arcam CD92, Arcam Delta290 and Castle Avon speakers. Would like to step significantly from the Delta290. Does the board have any interesting ideas?

RE: change of amp

Do you fancy sticking with Arcam or looking at other manufacturers? What's your budget? Do you want to buy new or will you consider second hand?
