Bookshelf speakers for a small room, with Marantz PM6004, next to the rear wall ? What to choose ?
Greetings everyone, I have a very difficult choice to make between the Boston Acoustics A26 and Monitor Audio BX2, regardless of the price difference. The speakers will sit on a desk, 5-10 cm from the rear wall, next to a wooden wardrobe on the left. There is no way to put floorstanders in my 10-12m2 room.Source will be the PC, playing FLAC files, I will also probably buy the Asus Xonar ST, if you believe it will improve the sound of the Marantz PM6004.I saw recommendations to listen to the amplifier in Source direct mode, but I have no idea if I need the better sound card, as I had a receiver before and never a stereo amplifier.
I already heard the PM6004 with the A26 and I was blown away by the deep, clear falsetto vocals on power metal songs, along with some Eurodance mix played afterwards. This is the only type of music I will listen to.Vocal presentation is the most important to my taste, second comes the detail, which was very rich with the A26. I also heard Mordaunt Short Aviano 2, KEF Q100 and some expensive Quadrals - nothing was even close to the A26.I asked the man in the showroom to put the A26 directly to the real wall, and I heard no difference.I am also hesitating to take either PM6003 or PM6004 for the A26 or BX2, and I do hope there is someone who has heard enough combinations to help me.Unfortunately, there is no way for me to audition any more of what I already said.
