1) A pair of original Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones which I bought from a friend many years ago. The earpads are very worn but they still rock.
2) Van Den Hul The First Ultimate, again bought from a friend that completely transformed my now departed separates system.
3) My Tannoy R2`s are over 20 years old (bought from new) & everytime I have upgraded a component they keep giving more. How far will they go !

I have the 780SEs which should be even better, they were not bad although now I realise the tweeters were not great and bass was lacking.
They were great speakers twenty years ago but the hifi world has moved on and they're not up to the standard of modern speakers. One of my family members still has my old 760's and they're still pleasent to listen to on the end of his cheap all in one Pioneer system. It's not proper HiFi but it is passable. They'd make a good second hand buy for anyone on a shoestring budget.
I always thought that they lacked bass though and used to use them with a 150 watt 8" Longmill car subwoofer.
i converted my original 760se to active 20 years ago Steve using a cheap car active Xover and 2 Rotel stereo power amps they sounded pretty decent.
Still have them under my bed from when i snapped the bed leg off they were just the right size lol.
That sounds like an interesting project. Do you you have any pictures?
No pics of the missions no sorry Steve but after that i built some floorstanders i made active the same way and they sounded very good.
Pic of the floorstanders
Ive been buying hifi for over 40 years and still have most of it as i dont like to sell stuff.
Still got my Pioneer A400 2 pairs of 760se and Denon 260L tuner from over 25 years ago and the A400 has been in use in the tv system since it was bought and still works perfectly as does the Denon.
