Hi all,

Want to buy a new integrated amplifier, have about £1000 to spend. Listen mainly to rock based music with the odd bit of classical thrown in. Currently have a Creek A50, which is ok, but think I can do better. Would also like the facility to add Pre or Power amp later. Any ideas?

Jez

Hi Jez,

I'd suggest Cyrus is the way to go.

You could either buy the Cyrus 8VS2 integrated (£800) - our current Award winner at your price point - or go for a pre/power from the off, but (as the Cyrus' are so small) ones that'll take up the same shelf space as a standard-size integrated.

The Cyrus Pre Vs2 preamp (£600) and Cyrus 6 power amp (£400) are five-star performers that'd give your music a boost.
And of course you can add PSX-R power supplies (£400) to either the integrated or pre/power amps as a further upgrade as/when you need.
