Same old ATC, dry, boring and over-priced?

By the sound of it, yes, carrying on their fine tradition.

No, but as with most things you're perfectly entitled to be wrong and loudly express yourself.

It appears not sometimes. Oh, I forgot, you're one of Rick's little ATC posse he rings up regularly and ask to reply on here when Frank Harvey tried to invade his 'patch', aren't you. Battle of amplifier opinion regarding power, usually.

What an odd little fellow you are. I post about ATC speakers and products because I enjoy and admire both the sound that they produce and their company ethos, philosophy and engineering principles. I find them to be much the best speakes at their various price points, and therefore I consider them to sound superb and represent excellent VFM.

Rick shares (albeit with much greater knowledge and experience) my appreciation for ATC and I have also bought some speakers from him. I don't find it surprising that our views frequently coincide when it comes to ATC products, nor given out shared enthusiasm that we often both post on such threads.

To put it neutrally, David has a rather different approach from Rick to many things and does not share Rick's or my enthusiasm for ATC; rather he has such enthusiasm for kef (and indeed mentioned kef on this atc thread). I find it equally unsurprising therefore that I often disagree with what David has said and I am rarely reticent in posting disagreements if I feel like doing so.

I'm certainly going to give them an audition, for a second system I'm setting up, and if they are better than my old and long gone EB2's I'll be buying a pair. Smile

What did you think of the EBs and what made you get rid?

WHF rated the 11s and the EB2s pretty close so presumably would have the new 11s edging ahead. Will be interested to hear your thoughts.

Well, if we were all the same, it'd be a boring world.

I mentioned KEF in reply to alchemists original post - I said I had been busy due to National KEF Week - if it had been National Dynaudio Week, I'd have said that I had been busy due to National Dynaudio Week.

There are many speakers I like, all for very different reasons, and they are not all from the same manufacturer. There are many different speakers I will recommend to people too, which will be based on suitability.

Sure. I've only just taken down my National Kef Week bunting myself. Just in time too, as I'm going to use it for the World ATC Day street party that everyone's throwing here.

Awesome.

We look forward to the many photos of you and your neighbours wearing your party hats, waving flags, and eating copious amounts of jelly.

I never got to demo ATCs, how do they compare with say Kef LS50s?

I haven't had a chance as yet to compare the new ATC to the LS50 yet. Sad

All I can say is that I did get the R300 to sound very similar to the old SCM11 by using the supplied bungs (full bung). That was an interesting demo...

Well certain WHF staff members have given the nod too ATC  over the KEF's.

On the ATC review, opinion section.........mmm!..........:shifty:

Yup. So when you're demoing the LS50s you'll be able to say, 'and if you like those, for a little more you can have this even better speaker'  Smile
