Arcam's new FMJ range
I'm sure Clare would take it in the way it was intended given she was the one who told me about £120 hair cuts.
So, Ash - review sample of the 9.1s incoming?

Indeed! And in answer to your question, we'll continue to reflect the market, plus review more mainstream hi-fi than anyone else. As well as having the ever-growing of all our reviews online here, of course....
Hughes123:Joel, I would change that last post, because I think it came across in the wrong way!
Nah, I think it came out just right (search this forum for 'haircut'.......)
Edit - sorry, behind the times here.
i got the joke too JD, i kinda liked it....
how many other links are there between hi fi makes and TV baddies i wonder
I will be getting some 9.1s for my study/computer room shortly. If they are as good as some of Ash's comments suggest, I'll be selling my lounge hifi and bringing these bad boys in as replacements...
However, if I dont like them, Id imagine he'll refer to my opinions as 'twaddle' ![]()

Let's not Spendor our time Naiming people...
Oh dear, that was bad...
So when is this FMJ test going to happen? And will you be testing both the CD37 and CD17?
As far as PCs are concerned - mine is for Counter-Strike and GRID, and my CD player is for music.........
I think we should ensure that rubbish jokes are punishable by instant death. Perhaps in JD's case a 20 minute ban from the forum.

There seems to be some misunderstanding here. Lossless files (all the different types) streamed through an Airport Express will be at least as good as the digital output from a CD transport. This has been discussed on numerous Forums and that's the conclusion of the experts. However iTunes plays 24 Bit material up to 192 K and there are moves to increase the amount of this that is available (search 24 bit and T Bone Burnett in Google) as downloads and DVD A tracks, therefore a computer has the advantage.
WHF thought the original ADM9 DAC better than the one in the £1500 Primare, but the one in the 9.1s is quite a bit better because the whole speaker is a re-design. There are now two Optical coaxial digital inputs and one analogue by RCA phonos so that people can compare both the analogue and digital outputs of their CD players with the DAC in the ADM9.1. I guarantee that none will be better.
We certainly don't buy our DAC from Linn but we do use the same one as is in their £10K server. It's the latest and state of the art Wolfson and in this Application it has SRC and a very high quality filter. The great thing about saving money on enclosures is that you can spend more on the signal path circuitry.
The Americans are a bit ahead of the UK in the use of Computers for serious hi end sound reproduction and we'd recommend www.computeraudiophile.com if you're interested.
