Sports Headphones...Are they any good?
I was hoping to get some opinions and experience around the topic of Sports Headphones. I currently work out 4-5 times a week and my poor old Sennheiser CX95's haven't handled the sweat and heat so it’s time for a new pair. I thought this was a prime time to move into the sports headphones market as they 'should' be designed for my needs.
I have an iPhone to supply my tunes, and use a Belkin armband to hold the phone safe. I sweat like a sinner at confession, and both go to the gym as well as run 20km a week.
Every single product I have found so far that has caught my eye have very mixed and shocking reviews. The first pair which tempted me were the Beats Powerbeats which gains 5 stars at this magazine. However the reviews on build quality and the number of items needing returned worry me when considering spending 120 quid. The alternatives were the Sennheiser PMX 680i's which seem to have good reviews in some places but they don't seem to do very well with excessive sweat.
There is of course the thought that all these bad reviews are of people buying fakes (as Beats and Sennheiser seem to be the big targets of counterfeit goods). I don't mind parting with some serious cash if the products tick all the boxes but would be raging to pay up to £120 to find they break after a month or so.
Would really appreciate any past experiences and recommendations!
