Just received the loan unit from the only authorised dealer in Malaysia for Audez'e headphones... David & Associates ...

This unit of LCD2 was personally delivered by Mr. Aaron this evening...

Feast your eyes on these pictures while I audition them...

Why not also try LCD3 which sounds much better, in particular, in soundstaging and on the HF range as well as presenting more details than LCD2.

What's the story on that cable?

That cable looks like a pure copper cable which I think is not very suitable to be used with LCD2.  Pure silver cable is preferred to enusre the HF is not compromised.

As to the carrier BOX I prefer the original wooden Box rather than a plastic one which looks unprofessional and cheap. BTW I cannot see the small oil bottle and other accessories in the box Exclamation Mark

rolling on the floor laughing

As for the case, it looks like a Pelican case which is about as far from "unprofessional" as you can get.

Perhaps because it's £1000 more expensive? Just a thought.

I have used it for a few hours now... It provide a different musical presentation comapred to my Alessandro Grado. Low end notes more controlled and vocals especially is exceptional. It is however a bit too heavy... have to lean back on my sofa to feel more comfortable...

This is the ALOAudio 4 pin balanced cable... the cables for LCD2 is interchangable to other cables if you wish. This is one of the main reason I want to purchase/demo this unit because I want to utilise the balanced out from my Bryston amp.

It is actually pure silver cable ....there is definitely a big different between single ended and balanced cable for this unit.

This is actually the dealer's demo unit where he brings the unit from one customer to another...the carrier case to me its suitable for what he is doing.

If i do purchase a new unit, it will come with 3 years warranty and the oil and other accessories...

Now all questions clarified good job

I still strongly recommend you to try LCD3 and you will hear the BIG differences though it is almost costing you USD 1000 more excellent!

RE: My Ears Are About to Bleed - Review of Audez'e LCD2

LCD and LCD3 are of similar weight.  If you find LCD2 heavy you won't find LCD3 light Crying

But if you want to have something light you may try Senn. HD800 though it produces less bass than LCDs nevertheless the sound staging and clarity are better than LCDs.  If you can match HD800 with a right headphone amp. you will love the sound it produces.  I do love it Smile  I don't know how your headphone amp. performs with HD800 but my Yulong A18 and HD800 are perfect matches.  I am using Toxic Cable's Pure Silver cable (Silver Widow) and I do not have any feeling of fatigue even after many hours of music listening.  As a matter of fact a lot of people prefers using pure OCC cable on HD800 to tame the HF but IMHO it depends very much on the headphone amplifier you are using.  IMHO the mid range of HD800 is extraordinary and the bass for me is natural and just right (someone however will say HD800 is bass lean). The HF is very detailed but not harsh at all. I find HD800 is a honest and neutral pair of CANS without too much coloration added.  For this reason I actaully own 2 paies of HD800s, one used in my bedroom while the other in the living room   Smile

I did try both LCD2 and LCD3 and they are GOOD headphones and have completely different characters when compare with HD800.  For me at the end of the day I prefer HD800 and I found it is the most comfortable CANs I have ever put on  cheer

I have posted a review on the use of Pure Silver cable vs Pure OCC cable on HD800 and you may find it useful:

Very interesting bit of info and perspective there. Have you heard about people finding newer versions of the HD800 (about a year ago) much less lean than older ones? Have you heard many different versions over these periods in shops? or do you think it could be related to relative subjectivity or pad wear etc.?

Have you heard the Hifiman range and if so where would you put them in relation to the HD800 / LCD 2/LCD3? I really quite like the Hifiman's that I've tried so far (HE-400/500). I see that the weight of the LCD2 is about the same as the HE-500/HE-6 (although it changes a bit depending on which wood you go for with Audeze). I find this noticeably heavy, but I get used to it after a while and never really get tired of it. I don't know why they have to be so heavy, maybe to avoid unwanted vibration? I mean the Fostex T50rp uses the same technology and it's nowhere near as heavy. I guess it could be argued that it's also nowhere near as good. Anyway, I see that the LCD3 is about 10% heavier than the LCD2 (550g), ouch! Compare that to the HD800 @ 330g. Since the weight distrobusion is also able to be even better with the HD800 it seems like a feather is on your head by comparison!
