Anybody own or demoed these headphones at all?
Any comments or feedback on how they sound would be really appreciated

Here's a few unbiased reviews. Looking iffy at this point. I avoid the "house" reviews and go for the independents and the more reliable pros.
Checking Innerfidelity's measurements, it's -2 db in the bass, -8 db in the midrange, and -20 db by 3 khz and on down from there. A rather dark sound it looks like.
Apple has 5 5-star reviews, but those don't have any clues to the sound.
Here's a pretty good indie review from head-fi:

I own a pair of looking iffy at this point spirit ones and i like them alot , comfortable and sound good to me.
Unfortunately i am a novice with headphones so i would not be able to articulate what you need to make a worthy assesment sorry.

This is interesting. I hadn't looked at the WhatHiFi review, but when I did I see one user review, and that user had two defectives in a row. So unless that user is also one of the Amazon guys, it looks even worse for this headphone. But it would be difficut for Focal to beat Logitech's record with their new UE-4000 and 6000 models. They sent Innerfidelity, a very influential reviewer, 2 defective 4000's in a row, and my first 6000 was defective.
