OK, I have a fair handle on what is going on with head phones now, still in the market. The reviews one reads all seem to be associated with iPad, laptop, home cinima, gaming and DAC use, real quality hifi music listening does not seem to get a look in?

Is there anyone who can give a view on phones used direct from a decent two channel valve based hifi music set up. An early Pro-ject headphone amp will be pluged into the 'tape out' on the pre amp and two sets of phones will be used, the head amp has dual output and volume controls. Music listened to is Classical, Jazz, Blues, Country and some Rock.

I am planning to go to a South Coast listening room with bucket loads of models avaliable. I keep looking and changing the short list, gets very confusing, budget up to £150-£200, 3m straight cable is a must!
