Another decent and useful FiiO amp that doubles as a computer USB DAC:
Final Audio Pandora VI, Beyer T51p, Harman/Kardon Soho, Thinksound ON1, v-moda M80, Bose OE2i, Audioengine D3/Microstreamer/FiiO E07k DAC/amps.
which sadly won't work with a Galaxy S3!
Drat. Nice review though
JRiver MC17 -> Cambridge Audio DACmagic+ -> Roksan Caspian M2 -> ProAc D18
Nice review Dale. I think that's worth investing in.
I had some doubts about the E07k when I took it out of the box. One person I trust said that they thought the sonics were better than the E17, and I was especially doubtful about that. Then with the small size and plastic/glass cover screen, my expectations were low. But not anymore - it's driving a moderately efficient ADL H118 headphone to loud levels with no strain. So the dynamics are solid, noise nonexistent, with bass as clean and deep as you like. Unfortunately for portable use, inputs and output are on opposite ends, so operating from a small pocket or pouch while out and about is going to be tricky.
