Can the Grado GS1000i really rival a high end Loudspeaker?

hi, i have absolutely no chance of a home demo with a GS1000i so it would be excellent if their is somebody who actually owns a pair could give me some advice on these headphones,

i own the ps1000s and commented on another thread that for the first time i felt as headphones they lived up to that of a great set of speakers - bass was deep and tuneful and the highs were really sweet, lots of detail - found them very enjoyable/easy to listen to - if you can't listen to speakers due to family ect they do offer a real solution for me now - you would need a good headphone amp to drive them properly and if they are anything like the ps1000s don't be thinking of using them with ppl around as they are open backed and when i have mine on the gf really moans that they put her off the telly
