Yes, you are "wrong". You can spend half the cost of that amp on a fine headphone amp that will happily drive those headphones. Graham Slee, NJC Audio, Lehman, Matrix, seriously, even below £300 you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, drive they will do but will they produce sound quality anywhere near that of the A1? That's the question. Otherwie, sure, pretty much anything will drive those 'phones.

Naim Headline2/NAPSC2 will do a fine job with the Grados.





Hi. I am thinking of buying a Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp. The What Hi-Fi review says that you almost MUST use it with the T1 headphones. I have Grados PS1000. Am I wrong wanting the A1? Should I want some other headphone amp instead? Many thanks!
