Anyone modified Denon AH series?

Ive been using my Denon AH-d2000's for 3 months now and  really enjoying them. Sometimes i do find the bass a bit overpowering and im wondering if it might be worth trying the Mark l mods. These are the mods Mark Lawton devised which mainly consist of eliminating unwanted frequencies using damping material in the cups. If it tightened the bass without losing the sub sonic frequencies i would give this a go but i believe its pretty much irreversable mod.
