When I set up my PSN account I used an email address that is now redundant; so when I try to log in, I'm advised a message has been sent to an email account I can no longer access. Does anybody know how I can get around this?

I never bought anything on PSN or entered bank details, so I'm less concerned about security, but it would be nice to take advantage of the freebies Sony is offering by way of apology for the whole fiasco.

Thanks.

RE: Gaming

There was no requirement for an email to be sent and confirmed when I changed my password recently using the PS3. So you should just be able to use the incorrect email address to change to a new password and sign in. Once this is done, follow the instructions here to change the email address.

If this doesn't work, try logging a support request here.

Thanks Prof.

The first option doesn't work, but I'll request support, as you suggest.

Incidentally, does anybody know what games Sony are offering as part of their apology package?

RE: Gaming

From memory, it was Dead Nation, Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, Wipeout HD + Fury add-on package, inFamous and LittleBigPlanet.

There was also another option which I chose at the top which was labelled Playstation 3 Free Games - I haven't actually looked into what this is as yet, but I already had most of the games in the list already so didn't have much choice!

Well, I own just one of those games, so if I can resolve my log in issue, I'll take full advantage. Let's see how quickly Sony can address my problem. I'm guessing their customer support networks are strectched to capacity right now.

RE: Gaming

When my son and I first wanted to log on after it came back online, we were told we were sent an email through which we had to change the password, otherwise we couldn't log on at all. My son had several accounts and couldn't complete the logon for two of them as he had forgotten the email/password.

I do appreciate it may not be the same for all PSN users and some people could complete the logon without having been sent email and all that.
