I have just bought a multiroom box and am awating my second viewing card arriving before I can watch it.  However, the Sky engineer said that I need to connect this box to my phone line.  Is this correct?  My original box is not connected either.  Do I need to connect this one also?  Can I connect both wirelessly?  Lastly, the muppet who installed my second box used black wiring in my ever so white kitchen.  Is there any way to disguise the black cables with the exception of tippex?

Re: Sky multiroom connections help

You could always get one of these to solve your phone line connection problem...

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97658

And this for your black cable problem...

You can probably get both cheaper if you look around.

Re: Sky multiroom connections help

With one box it uses the phone line for ordering box office stuff and sky active and that's about it, however with multiroom I believe the box will connect regularly to confirm that it's actually at the phone number that you claim it is. This is to stop people buying multi-room at the reduced price and then sticking the second box in another property to get cheap sky there.

I don't know how you'd connect something to a phone line wirelessly?
