Sky box on the blink again
My Sky box has gone on the blink for the second time in 2 years. Called today - was kept on the phone for 22mins by Sky!!! That's after I got past all the "press one for this, press two for that" nonsense.
Sky want £65 for a call out to fix the problem. (Which will be fixed by Sky fitting a new box again no doubt.)
Their web site says I can have a new Sky box for £49 if it's a replacement for an exisiting one. This magically becomes £148 if you call them as you have to have it "installed" which costs £99.
Oh - and for great customer service you can't cancel your contract if your talking to the "technical" help line. (About as technically knowledgeable as my dog!!!! BTW) Despite the fact they have a screen in front of them which claerly has every bit of account information on it. You can order anything else in the way of an upgrade, which they keep trying to sell you, but you can't just plain cancel. If you get through to the cancel option on the phone you are put on hold for ever it seems to me.
I am sick and tired of these clowns. They keep edging up the cost of my basic package so it's now £22 a month. As soon as there is a resonable History Channel and Discovery service on FreeSat then I'm dumping Sky.
I've posted this in the hope that a Sky employee might read it and realise how utterly rubbish their customer service actually is.
