Can anybody tell me how many hours recorded programmes can you get on a 160gb sky HD box in HD channels,
The sky man says its takes up more space recording in HD,
Anybody help cheers guys DAZ
sky used to quote something like 80hrs max recording time, but this will vary somewhat depending on whether it's sd or hd content, channel bit rates and even what type of programme your recording. a fast paced action movie in hd will use more space than most other programmes,
Dont know about sky but virgin ratio is about 5hrs disk space per 1 hr HD recorded.

The Fringe on Sky1 HD is 75 minutes long and takes up 6% of the disk space. If that is a reasonable example, it would equate to about 1250 minutes or nearly 21 hours. My guess is that the amount of disk space taken up also includes issues such as whether the sound is in Dolby Digital.
