HBO's The Pacific?
What channel on Sky will it be shown? I don't have all the Packages.
It is Sky Movies (http://creative.sky.com/thepacific/).
The site just says Spring 2010.
Looks like Sky are out to rip off their customers once more. It's a TV series so why is it on a movie channel which requires yet another subscription. I subscribe to Sky One because thats where they show TV series. Is the next series of 24 going to be on Sky Sports?

was probably made with a budget of 5 movies and it's not going to be on the cinema. I'm quite pleased, should mean no adverts.
Damn it, gonna have to subscibe to it then
Don't want to miss it, really looking forward to it
I agree with tvmog we are being exploited. I'll just cancell movies when it's finished![]()
Well they do this with Star Wars: The Clone Wars (animation) where they have 30 minute episodes each week on SKYPremierHD.
The Pacific is reported to premiere on HBO on Sunday March 14.
I think I have read somewhere that it will follow on sky at around the same time?

Ian Lewis, the director of Sky Movies, said:
.... "We're still speaking to HBO about exactly when it will go in spring but the intention is that as soon as it airs in the US it will air at the same time here,"
As mentioned, i'm really glad that means no adverts - if it's anything like as good as Band of Brothers, the thought of ads in the middle of an episode would be incredibly jarring.
And if Sky Movies is an upgrade too far, there's bound to be the Blu-ray boxset out by Christmas....
OK, so HBO is a separate subscription channel?
If so would it be cheaper/better to subscribe to that instead of Sky movies? ![]()
Not in the UK, no; HBO is a US channel, whose programmes (inc The Sopranos, Sex and the City and many more) are sold off one by one to the highest overseas bidders.
And yes, in the States HBO is a paid-for service - hence the Home Box Office name.

So we are paying for it just like the guys over the pond.
Or not if you already subscribe to movies.
Of course we do pay for everything in some way eventually as nothing is ever free.
I wonder why The Pacific was'nt taken up by the same Channel who aired the original showing of Band of brothers? BBC2 wasn't it?
