Freesat PVR - when?

Has anyone got any whispers (or failing that, solid facts), about when a Freesat HD PVR is likely to become available?

I'm really keen to add a freesat box for HD (I resent having to pay Sky £200+ for a box and then another £120 a year for the HD) but would rather wait for a PVR if one is in the pipeline...

Re: Freesat PVR - when?

Very happy with my FREESAT HUMAX FOOXSAT HD Box which I got last week having cancelled my £38 a month subscription with SKY

Now a £150 for the SKY HD Box but still £48 a month if you subscribe to a SKY sports Package with HD on top ....that's £576 a year.................and for what exactly...and on top of that there's the TV Licence of £144 a year

Much rather pay the £144 a year and have FREESAT with the occasional delve into both BBC and ITV HD

I think it's safe to say we'll start seeing them sometime in the autumn - Panasonic and others have hinted heavily that they're in development.

Yeay. So I'm right to hang on then. Thanks for the info guys... I reckon I've sorted my Xmas prezzie from the missus...!

I'm probably going to have to hold onto the basic-ish package (~£19pm) as the missus needs Living and the little 'un needs boomerang and some of the other non-BBC kids channels. Apparently both are non-negotiable.

Ah well - at least I won't be adding any more to Sky's coffers...

Tallyho - how do you compare the EPG between your old Sky box and new Humax? Is it quick/responsive? easy to use? etc?

Thanks

BUMP...

Any further news guys? Everything seems to have gone a little quiet - I was expecting an announcement for maybe an October release date?

Freesat has recently changed the PR company that represents it - and we're still awaiting a proper update, post IFA show - but rest assured you'll read about it here as soon as possible...

Thanks in advance
