Hi Everyone

I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem as me.  I have SkyHD and most of the time cannot pick up the SD versions of the C4 channel(Drunk.  C4HD works fine.  Have spoken with Sky HelpDesk Tongue Tied and they said they sent something to the box, I did a Rebuild at their request and said come back if a problem.  There was an immediate change but now reverted back to no SD channels.  Reboots don't make any difference, unfortunately.  Appreciate it if anyone else knows if this a common (or even a rare) problem or have a solution before I go back and ask for an engineer call?

Not something I've encountered, I have to say. Did have a problem yonks back with drop-outs on recordings of C4, but that resolved itself without any user-intervention being required...

Nope, not had this problem. But to be honest, since both Channel 4 and E4 have been available as simulcast HD channels, I haven't watched the SD versions.

It could be a faulty LNB on your dish.

I had a similar problem last year. I would lose about a third of my Sky channels for a few days at a time, after which they'd come back again. When the LNB was changed the problem cleared and hasn't happened since.

Re: C4 and its associate channels

Loss of C4 and it's sister channels is quite common. One of the common causes is local interference.

So if you have any wireless devices such as BB routers, Dect/cordless phones, video senders etc, turn them off and see if the channels reappear. If they do then you'll have to experiment with the placement/changing channel these devices broadcast on.

Other causes may be cable damage/water ingress into the cable or slight dish misalignment/LNB skew adjustment.

If the LNB's faulty, you usually lose an entire band of channels not just channels on a specific frequencies.

Re: C4 and its associate channels

Thanks Everyone, especially daveh75, for the help.  Will have a play - nothing like a router, or phone close to the Sky box (Wii (possible culprit), AV amp and BD player only) but will shuffle stuff about a bit and see before calling for an engineer - although wonder if it was an installation problem,as was the same on the day it was installed.

Take the point about the HD channel versions meaning redundancy for SD versions but something in me says I've paid for a complete set of channels, so I want them all in their full glory Smile
