Hi,

I currently have a humax freesat box,and was wondering if I could buy a second hand sky box and just view the free to air channels including the hd channels .

Im aware you need two feeds to watch and record at he same time, but this is not an issue.i would just liike to pause and record only.

Any tips appreciated .

Thanks

You'll need a paired viewing card to get the ITV HD channels (and c4 as well) and you won't be able record or pause unless you're paying sky 10 pound a month for sky+ functionality.

I might be wrong about the ITV HD channels now, we were watching them last night on an HD box with a card from a non-HD box  that I haven't bothered pairing yet (can't be bothered to ring Sky). They're just not where you'd find them on a properly setup SkyHD box.

You definitely can't use the Sky+ features without paying them.
