Replacing sky router problem???

Afternoon ppl, I've got a Belkin router stored away in the garage which was bought to replace the free one that sky give ya but i could never get it to work. Do sky do something at their end to prevent you from discarding their router???

Sky routers come pre-configured, and they don't supply login/set-up details (nor will they provide any support if you have issues with your b/band and they discover you're using a third party router) as they expect you to use the supplied router.

There are online password extractors and set-up tutorials, should you wish to use your own router though...
