I have cancelled Sky and would like to record, pause, record series etc. like from Sky box from my new Samsung smart TV which has both free view and freesat HD built in.
How do I do this?
Cyrus 8XP (with Ianmac filter) & PSX-R/2xCyrus X Power/Cyrus CD 8SE2 & PSX-R/Denon TU1800 DAB/Sony MDsJE530/MA RS6 speakers/Tellurium Q Black, Chord Chorus2, Chord Cadenza, Chord Cobra3 interconnects/TQ Black speaker cable/TQ Black Links/Clearer Audio Copper-Line Alpha mains cable/Black Ravioli pads/Entreq Minimus
I don't have a Samsung, but will it record to a USB stick/drive?
Best to use a 2.5" external hard drive, a 500gb drive should be less than £50 and won't require an external power supply. Plug it in to the USB marked HDD as this one has a higher current.
Press the record button on the remote, and it will come up with a prompt to format drive. Do that, and away you go. You can record and pause live tv from the remote, you can do timed recording and series link from the guide mode. My TV can only watch the channel it records, but if you have a posh one with twin tuners you can watch one channel and record another.

most sticks are too slow. Best use a hard drive.
Thanks for this information.
