Recently seen some 1080p broadcasts on BBC HD channel.

Absolutely stunning, best quality TV broadcasts I have ever seen.Smile

The best Ive ever seen was back in the days of the BBC HD trial. Still haven't seen anything better.

Yes Bbc-hd does broardcast in 1080p they changed to a diffrent codec to allow this,and it does look fantastic.

Your right, not all progs. are 1080p but they are increasing the amount.

As far as I know, it is Freeview only.

I thought Torchwood would be on in 1080p and indeed it was. It wasn't night and day better than 1080i on Sky, but it was an improvement. I didn't think there would be much difference, but I guess there could be other differences too, such as bitrate?

Thanks for highlighting this, chudleighpaul. I thought it was still in the testing phase, didn't realise full shows were being transmitted in 1080p Smile
