DAB radios with SD/USB recording/playback
I've got a Pure Evoke-3, which I use extensively for both timeshifting DAB radio, and playback of MP3s converted from my iTunes collection, via SD card. However, the Pure is limited by the 2GB basic SD card limit, it doesn't take SDHC/XC or have a USB socket.
In the 3+ years since I bought it, the cost of cards has dropped by the usual factor: I can now buy 16GB SDHC cards for the price I paid for the 2GB ones back then, bigger ones are affordable, and I'd like to be able to get much more music on one card.
Does anyone know of a bedside DAB radio that fits the bill? What I really want is an Evoke-4, but Pure seem to have abandoned both SD and USB in favour of wireless, while by the time Roberts include recording, they usually have CD playback and iPod docking as well, which doubles the price.
A USB socket I could stick an SDHC adaptor (or even small HDD) in would be fine. Support for AAC or Apple Lossless would be even better.
Before anyone suggests wireless streaming, the 2.4GHz band is completely saturated in the area where I live, and 5GHz solutions look too expensive, e.g., an Airport Express in the aux socket of the radio would need an iPAD, not POD, to control it.
The original radio cost under £200, any replacement/enhancement shouldn't cost more, so solutions involving iPod docks (at up to £336 for the iPod Touch!) are also out.
