Any recommendations for...
...a Denon TU-1800? Like Chebby I listen to a lot of radio, and recently purchased a 260L, which sounded good. This has now found another home with a charity business near me.
Has anyone owned or heard the 1800? if so, how does it stack up against the 260L?
*EDIT* I can edit mine anytime.
Certainly the slight sibilance cleared just before the other Denon was delivered. As it was cheap as chips I decided to keep it. Now have the Marantz rigged back up and it sounds fine.
If I were starting with your set-up, i'd be tempted to get another cheap Denon TU-260 (for FM) or keep the Marantz going and spend £99 on an Apple TV.
With an iPod Touch (plenty of good used ones) or iPad Mini you can then get iPlayer Radio app and TuneIn Radio Pro and (using the AirPlay that is built into both devices) have a wireless 'Uber tuner' that fits in your palm that can have radio podcasts downloaded, live Radio, catch-up radio and plenty of other tricks too.
I used to own the TU-1800. It was very good, stacked up favourably against the Primare T23.
Not sure I want to go Apple TV route at this stage, purely because I get a whole heap radio stations on Freeview + tuner, although it's an option for the future.
