I am quite new to this topic and would like to know the following:-
1) What is a DAC?
2) What can it do?
3) What and how can be connected to a DAC ?
1.DAC is a digital to analogue converter. It basically is a device or a component in a digital player (eg CD player, MD player, iPod) that converts digital signal to analogue sound that is audible to human ears.
2. Refer above plus it can also upsample the digital signal to a higher rate.
3. It can be connected using coaxial, optical, hdmi, usb or XLR. With the right connection, any digital source can be connected eg cd player, MD player, ipod, dvd, BD player, ipod etc...
