Sky to DacMagic = Cracking sound when changing channels

When I flick through the channels I get a cracking sound for a split second - obvious I don't want the speakers damaged, is there anything I can do? It's connected via optical - shall I try coaxial?

Shouldn't make any difference - it's the DAC unlocking and then relocking to the digital datastream.
