Internal dac's

Could anyone explain why i should connect my cd player's digital output to my amplifiers digital input as both units have a dac in them. Would it just be the same to connect the cd player's line out to the amps line in (red n white) as the cd's dac would of already converted from digital to analog. Is that right?

RE: Internal dac's

Connecting the CD player to the amp via its digital output will bypass the CD player's DAC and use the DAC in the amp. Using the line-out on the CD player will use the CD player's DAC and bypass the DAC in the amp. Take your pick and choose whichever sounds best to your ears.

Audio: MacMini / AEX > AVI DM10 + BK Gemini II sub; Visual: Samsung BD-C5500 > Panasonic TX-L47ET5B.

Head-fi: various, but most often Sennheiser HD-580 or Audio Technica ATH-M50X
