Cyrus CD Transport or Rega Apollo R for Rega DAC ?
Hi,
I have Rega DAC hooked to my Quad 99/909 pre/power combo. I do like Rega sound and am very happy with this DAC. The only weak area in my system now is a good CD transport or a CD player as transport at the front. Im split betwee Cyrus CD T transport and Rega Apollo R CD player, both fall into the same price bracket.
Will appreciate any suggestions.
Regards.
Hi. thnx for your suggestion, Saturn R is also in the offing but my preference is half box transport. I agree with what you have said about the sound quality of Saturn CDP.
Regards
Don't think the Saturn-R is available until next spring. I've checked on Rega's website and there's no mention of it so far.
This thread gives more info on the 'R' range from Rega. http://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/new-intergrated-cdp-from-rega

I would suggest, unless you use the dac for other duties, then sell the Dac and buy this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rega-Saturn-CD-Player-/271113582918?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_CDPlayerSeparates&hash=item3f1fa0f946
I've heard that the Saturn is very much on par with the Apollo + dac and you'll be saving yourself a shed-load of money.
