Benefit of a DAC into a digital amplifier?
Hi, hope this isn't a daft question but here goes anyway. I have the M2Tech Hiface USB DAC currently running JRiver Media Centre from the laptop into a Pioneer Amp. I noticed that Peter Tyson had some of the Myryad Mi systems available at a hugely reduced price and quite fancy one. My question is, if I continue to use the DAC into the Myryad, does the DAC become redundant as the Myryad is a digital amp. It looks to me that I would be converting digital-to-analogue with the DAC and then analogue-to-Digital with the amp? Would there still be a benefit in using the DAC to supply a "good" analogue signal for conversion to digital in the amp? Any help would be gratefully received, and any comments on the Myryad Mi would be welcome too - it's still expensive by my standards!
