a little background....... Cambridge 740A has just died(great sound poor reliability) it was running my MS904 floorstanders through a Yamaha 771 which in turn is dragging the music from a Synology NAS drive ive always been happy with the sound until ive just demoed the Cyrus 6a andthe Arcam FMJ A18 both with there respective cd players and pair of MSAviano 6,.....
...the question.....i am now happily running in the A18 (thought it had more warmth and solider bass although not as much presence) would a stand alone dac significantly out peform the Yamaha and would the synology nas recognise a usb dac and output to it?
all thoughts would be greatly appreciated (before i raid the wedding fund again)
