I want to get rid of my MD devices but there are some disks i have and for which i can't get CD replacements, so I want to rip them to my PC.

I bought a usb sound device with an optical input, but can't seem to get it to work. I tried it with Audacity software.

Anyone any experience with this or similar problem?

Hi,If its a sony minidisk then you need to go to www.sony.co.uk/support.From there you need to get sonicstage version 4.3.download that and you can then transfer all your mini disks.A word of warning though.if you made a digital copy of the disc then you may have problems.see how you get on.

I thought this was for ripping cd's to minidisc, not the other way round? Is there a way of getting round the copy protection (other than record from analogue)? I haven't tried this yet but thanks for your input so far.
