Hi all,

Anybody here uses one of the mentioned above or something
else (I think PS3 does good job) for watching videos from computer (external
hard drive)?

I am interested in which one is the best – works with most formats,
picture sound quality, software upgrades, etc....

Thanks for help.

Don't actually use any of these but of the ones you've mentioned I think popcorn hour supports the most formats. You should also look at the WD HD Media Player

A lot of PS3 owners use TVersity and there are a few YouTube 'How To' guides on how to install etc.

Don't use any myself so no idea of quality.

I have a Dvico TVIX m3100u, which is a rather basic model. It's not bad for movies, but not as good as an upscaling dvd player. However, I have it connected by component - there are newer models out with HDMI connections which I presume will upscale the picture. For convenience, I find it very good. And the quality of music playback (admittedly not through an exactly top notch music system) is pretty good to my ears.
