I have my main music setup in my office/study based around a Ubuntu pc (with DAC plus amplifier and wharfedales) but am trying to find a music player for the kitchen that matches the requirements below. I don't know if such a thing exists - I've been going round in circles looking - but here goes. I'm looking for something that:

1. Plays music streamed from the linux/Ubuntu pc via wifi (the pc is too far away for bluetooth). The linux requirement seems to rule out Sonos gear.

2. Can cope with a good range of music file formats including Ogg, Flac, m4a, mp3.

3. Is loud enough to cope with a party that ends up in the kitchen.

4. Includes an Ipod dock (so that other half can play her tunes too).

5. Has fm or DAB radio for the mornings. Nothing fancy - BBC stations are enough.

5. Offers decent sound quality so that actually listening to music is possible (as opposed to just having background noise). Prepared to pay for it, within reason, if that is what it takes.

6. Looks sufficiently good that the style council (see 4) will give it shelf space.

Plan B would be for a box that does all of the above but delivers output to a pair of amplified speakers via a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Thanks for your help!
