NAS for Sonos
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a Sonos bundle and would appreciate anyone's experience of the best value NAS to go for. As far as I can see, What HiFi give rave reviews to the AVA RS3 but it retails for about £800. I've also read about the Buffalo Linkstation Pro which costs a lot less at about £200.
Assuming I rip CDs on my computer and put it on a Buffalo Linkstation, what's the reason for buying the AVA instead?

Just about to post a thread on this subject about the Bufallo terastation, costs a lot, massive space, fast data transfer, DNLA capable....But............Absolute nightmare when it all goes wrong, Very tempramental device...Buy with caution
And there aren't many places you'd read the phrase
Huish:I also have Twonky Media installed on my Slug
Given that Sonos requires no server side software you can use any NAS that provides a windows-style shared directory. Which is all of them...

I use a Linksys NSLU2 (aka Slug) Think it costs around £50. You can connect 2 USB drives up of any size. I use mine for a general home "media store" and hold all my data for my Netgear EVA8000 Media Player. I also have Twonky Media installed on my Slug that "serves" up my Music library around the house.
Works great for me.
