A bit more tweaking and this is what I've ended up with:

Foobar is now feeding my DacMagic a 44.1kHz stream courtesy of Asio4all (you can just make out the little green icon in the Taskbar), and sounding splendid.

Nice one tractorboy.

How did you manage to tweak Chronflow to set the background album art much further back than the currently playing album?

It's not a tweak so much as just selecting a different option:

Preferences/Display/Chronflow - there should be tabs including Cover Display. On this there is a drop down selection called Saved Configurations. The one that I use is called Old Default. Some of the others are quite fun too, if not always so practical.

Thanks for that....I haven't really looked into the detail of Chronflow config. Of course, with your tip, I couldn't help myself. I had to tweak the code. I created a new configuration called PJPro and did some messing.

I've pushed the background album art back a little and reduced it's size (in comparison to the playing album), reduced the eye position so that the playing album art is square and increased the number of albums on dislay at once.

Cool!

PJ , Just bought a DACMAGIC to pursue digital further, since I Am anti-apple (Dont really know why!) saw your post & thought would go with EAC Flac/ Foobar , following your UI Primer (great post BTW) and adopted your file structure since starting from scratch.

Have got it setup fine so far with the exception of the Album art at the top , NG Playlist art shows but not above  (artist displays but no picture)

Its obviously something very stupid and obvious  but one of those ones where I could look for hours and not spot error .. Any ideas ? If not will leave it a day or so then recheck maybe spot it then. Smile

Do you mean that Chronflow isn't displaying the album art? If so, the UI Primer thread does attempt to explain what you need to put into the Sources.

If you can tell me what you have put into the Sources and can provide a filepath to one of your images, I might be able to help.

Incidentally, you can find the Sources using

File | Preferences - Prefences dialog appears.
In the tree, expand the Display node.
Select Chronflow.
Click the Album Source tab.
The Sources textbox is towards the bottom of the panel.

Re: Foobar2000 - User Interface Gallery

Mine is...

D:CD archiveArtwork\%album%.jpg

Where 'CD archive' is the folder where I store all my music and 'Artwork' is a subfolder which contains the pictures. I found this to be a lot easier than trying to store the album art in the individual album folders, for various reasons. e.g. non-standard file paths due to things like 2-disc albums.

I need my images to have the exact same name as the album for this to work (although I think we established earlier on PJP's setup that isn't necessary...

Re: Foobar2000 - User Interface Gallery

Hi everyone, I'm a fellow Foobar convert thanks to PjPro's instructions. While we're on the subject of Chronflow, I have almost all my album art embedded in the id3 tags (I think!). I don't have a seperate jpg for each album cover, unless itunes hides them somewhere. For some reason some of them show up in Foobar but others don't, anyone have any ideas why this might be? I don't know how i can instruct Chronflow to look for the album art if I can't find it myself, but since I can see it in itunes I know it must be there somewhere! Any help would be appreciated.

Does the folder "Kens Dcuments" really exist or is that just a typo?

I'm not sure that Chronflow can extract album art from music files (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

If you look at the Sources textbox you should be able to discover where your album art is. Remember, Chronflow tries to find the album art using the tags specified in the Sources textbox.

Clearly, for all of this to work, you need to be reasonably consistent in the way you file your album art away. You are able to specify more than one way for Chronflow to lookup album art by placing a number of paths in the Sources textbox. I had to do this for music which is filed under Various Artists. You know the sort of thing......Ladies Sing the Blues.

I'd recommend that you try to find your album art and use the same approach as tractorboy.....with all your album art in a single folder. If you do this, you can hard code the path and simply have Chronflow look for the album tag. So, something like this...

C:MusicAlbumArt\%album%.jpg

My own preference is to have closely associated files all in the same place....within my Led Zepplin IV folder, I have the music files, the album art and the EAC rip reports. If I were to download lyrics, I'd put them in the same folder. Incidentally, you can play the lyrics back to the music in foobar2000.....I have experimented but it seemed a little pointless.

There is no concept of 2 disc albums in my collection. That is a limitation of the media which is irrelevant once the music has been ripped.

Only noticed typo when I cut/paste info for u (that could have taken ages to spot)  , sorted now but do have a couple of albums which don't display art , i.e The View  Which *** ? , shows in playlist but not in library(copy of image in album dir & also seperate Artwork dir ). needs further investigation but presumably related to title "?" Maybe using your recent automatic post will resolve.

I had just downloaded run_dll / autodownloader with idea of doing it automatically but since i'm more Network than scripting  it would have definately been "work in progress"

Also check out the tags within the music files. Remember, they need to be exactly right. I remember having a problem with The Prodigy. The tag said Prodigy but the album art, etc was under The Prodigy.

Not sure I fully understand what you're saying here but if you get any problems with foo_run or albumartdownloader xui I'll help you out where I can. Please post any issues in the other thread....cos it'll help out others who follow you.
